JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University Athletics is looking for an Assistant Athletic Director
- Business Operations & Finance to fulfill the following duties:

Manages (3) Assistant Director of Business Operations positions.

Serves as primary contact for the preparation of Athletics Annual Financial Reports and Annual Budget Processes.

Oversees and manages essential duties for various Sports and interdepartmental Athletics units.

Assists the Deputy Athletic Director of Finance & Operations and the Sr. Associate Athletic Director of Business & Finance with ad hoc projects, as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

30% Budget Reporting:

Oversee budget reporting process that integrates monthly budget information with interactive dashboard. Assist with development of annual budget. Collaborate with campus business and finance leadership to integrate Athletics systems in with campus budget and forecast reporting.

24% Business Operations:

Provide managerial oversight of (3) Assistant Director of Business Operations positions that are responsible for Accounts Payable duties for various sports and interdepartmental Athletics units. Assisting with revamping department policies, compiling market data to assist with decisions, and other projects to improve the efficiency of the Business Office.

20% Accounts Payable Duties:

Oversee all Accounts Payable-related duties for selected sport(s) and interdepartmental Athletics units, including approval of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.

15% Accounting Duties:

Responsible for accounting duties for various sports and interdepartmental Athletics units, including but not limited to: procurement card approval and reconciliation, personal employee reimbursements, per diem card loads, and journal entries.

10% Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of the annual Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report and annual NCAA financial submissions following reconciliation with the Agreed Upon Procedures Report.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience in the field of Intercollegiate Athletics and/or an accounting-related field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Sports Management
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of Intercollegiate Athletics and/or an accounting-related field
RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB KNOWLEDGE

Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fiscal Responsibilities:
Fiscal responsibilities for the department's budget, including but not limited to, financial planning and managing fund allocation

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Expected Salary Range

$66,400.00 - $92,900.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:

Essential Support
- In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is necessary to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
