JOB SUMMARYProvide programmatic and event support to the Clemson Extension 4-H Youth Development. Provide support to state 4-H staff in various Program Areas with particular focus on alignment and support of recognition programs, record book projects, and event coordination, including marketing. Coordinate the 4-H Equine Program and related projects, activities, contests, and educational programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES- 50% - Essential - 4‑H Program Area Support:
Assist State 4‑H staff with supportive functions including, but not limited to, event promotion, registration, media releases, communications, site preparedness, and MOUs/contracts with other universities, event sites, or organizations for the various 4‑H Program Areas. Create documents, work to ensure accessibility, and track and manage data for assigned programs, events, and activities. Promote 4‑H on social media platforms, the Clemson University Calendar, 4‑H and Extension websites, and other media outlets aligned with faculty and staff needs. - 25% - Essential - 4‑H Alignment:
Provide support, technical assistance, maintenance, and alignment of 4‑H record book projects, recognition opportunities, and online educational resources in collaboration with state 4‑H staff, Extension leadership, and university instructional design experts. Train users (stakeholders, state faculty/staff, agents, and admins), update records, and pull reports as needed. Ensure accessibility and compliance for all related activities. Perform other duties as assigned. - 25% - Essential - 4‑H Equine Program Coordination:
Provide leadership to and coordinate the preparation, marketing, registration, logistics, compliance, record keeping/data management, and implementation of the 4‑H Equine Program as associated projects, activities, events, and educational programs. Manages program budgets with integrity and strategic oversight, ensuring responsible stewardship of funds and optimal use of resources to advance program outcomes. Work with youth development Extension faculty and staff and volunteers to ensure compliance in the Pre‑Collegiate Program Office's Youth Safety Portal.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education – Bachelor's Degree – Relevant program experience.
- Work Experience – 1+ years experience assisting with or coordinating educational programs, competitions, or 4‑H/FFA events.
- Licenses – Driver's License Class D normal < 26,000.
- Work Experience – 3+ years youth development, communications, equine science, or related field. A demonstrated expertise in program development and evaluation. Strong evidence of oral/written communication, interpersonal, & PR skills and managing multiple programs in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises Student Workers only.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIESProvides Budget Input – Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.
