Job Summary

The Associate Director of College Preparation & Outreach provides strategic leadership and oversight for programs that support student academic success, college readiness, and persistence from high school through college completion. This role leads the Emerging Scholars program and oversees curriculum development and implementation for high school academic-year and summer programming. The Associate Director also directs comprehensive retention initiatives for college students, including mentoring, assessment, and coordination of the CPO Living‑Learning Community, while collaborating with campus and community partners to advance institutional priorities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties
  • 35% - Essential - Program Leadership & Oversight:
    Provides leadership for CPO programs supporting student success across the K‑college pipeline, with primary responsibility for the Emerging Scholars program. Oversees program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement. Ensures programmatic alignment with CPO goals and institutional priorities.
  • 25% - Essential - Curriculum Development & Academic Programming:
    Assists with the development and implementation of curriculum for high school academic‑year and summer programming for CPO programs. Coordinates and executes recruitment efforts for CPO programs. Collaborates with internal staff, faculty, and partners to design engaging academic experiences that promote college readiness, persistence, and student success. Ensures curricular alignment across programs and educational stages.
  • 20% - Essential - College Retention & Living‑Learning Community Coordination:
    Oversees comprehensive retention initiatives for college students, including mentoring structures, assessment practices, and coordination of the CPO Living‑Learning Community. Works with campus partners to support student engagement, transition, and persistence through college completion.
  • 15% - Essential - Assessment, Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives:
    Assists with departmental assessment and data‑informed decision‑making to evaluate outcomes and inform continuous improvement. Collaborates with campus departments, school districts, and community partners to strengthen pathways, expand access, and ensure alignment with institutional and statewide initiatives.
  • 5% - Essential - Other Duties as Assigned:
    Performs other duties as assigned to fulfill the mission of the Department and Division.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree
  • Work Experience:

    1+ years experience in student services programs.
Preferred Requirements
  • Education:

    Master's Degree
  • Work Experience:

    5+ years experience in student services programs.
