You’ll be the technical backbone behind high-stakes transformer projects for hyperscale data centers, renewable energy plants, and industrial facilities.
When the requirements are messy and the stakes are high, you’ll be the one who turns complex specs into clear, buildable transformer solutions.
You translate one-line diagrams and utility requirements into real equipment, real proposals, and real projects that keep critical infrastructure running.
This is a role for someone who likes being in the middle of it all – sales, engineering, factories, repair shops, and the customer – making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
If you’ve lived in the world of medium-voltage power transformation and like being the go-to technical closer, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Work OnYou’ll live at the intersection of power systems engineering, customer requirements, and global manufacturing.
- Medium-voltage transformer projects up to 35 kV
- Critical infrastructure for hyperscale data centers
- Renewable energy power transformation projects
- Commercial and industrial (C&I) power systems
- Complex retrofits and repair-driven transformer solutions
- Factory-built equipment and internal repair capabilities
- Utility interconnection and protection scheme requirements
- High-value, high-visibility customer projects
You’ll constantly work with electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, utility interconnection agreements, and protection schemes as your daily toolkit.
Your core challenge: turn complex power system requirements into transformer solutions customers can trust.
What You'll Be Doing- Analyzing customer drawings and one-line diagrams to extract transformer requirements
- Translating complex technical and utility specifications into clear factory-ready requirements
- Building high-detail quotations for C&I, renewable, and data center projects
- Partnering with the sales team to shape winning technical and commercial proposals
- Serving as the primary technical resource on complex transformer opportunities
- Collaborating with factory and shop teams to confirm feasibility and alignment
- Acting as a force multiplier for inside sales by handling standard quotes during peak volume
- Ensuring no customer communication or quote request falls through the cracks
- Turning customer technical challenges into practical, buildable transformer solutions
- Building and nurturing long-term relationships so customers call you first
- Staying current on an evolving transformer product line and industry standards
- Supporting occasional job site, project, and factory visits as needed
- 2+ years in transformer sales engineering, application engineering, switch gear, or power systems engineering
- Hands-on focus in medium-voltage power transformation up to 35 kV
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams
- Experience working with specs, utility interconnection agreements, and protection schemes
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent field experience in transformer testing/repair
- Comfort moving between job sites in steel-toed boots and boardrooms with executive leadership
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and clear, confident technical communication
- Willingness to travel as required (less than 5%) for customer sites, project support, and factory visits
You’ve been the person sales leans on when a transformer project gets complicated – the one who can look at a one-line, understand the protection scheme, and quickly frame a solid solution. You’re comfortable talking megavolt-amperes and clearances with engineers, then explaining the same solution in plain language to…
