Job SummaryThe Drumline Instructor for the Clemson University Tiger Band works with the Director of Percussion and the band directors to coordinate auditions, rehearsals, and performances for the Tiger Band Drumline during the fall semester and other events throughout the spring semester. The instructor attends all home football games and away games that involve the full band, coordinates other events during the season, and performs additional duties as assigned.
Job Duties- 50% – Essential:
Lead rehearsals for all percussion students that participate in the Clemson University Tiger Band Drumline. - 25% – Essential:
Coach performances at all Clemson University football games and other events throughout the season, and events in the spring semester. - 10% – Essential:
Arrange percussion music for the Tiger Band Drumline. - 10% – Essential:
Maintain the Clemson University Tiger Band Drumline website. - 5% – Essential:
Schedule, coordinate, and run Tiger Band Drumline auditions in the spring/summer for the following fall football season; judge video auditions.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with relevant program experience.
Job Knowledge – Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures, and ability to apply them in varied situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities – No supervisory duties.
Budgetary Responsibilities – No budget responsibilities.
Physical Requirements- 50% – Stand for prolonged period

Standard
Hours:
7.5 hours per day.
Expected Hourly Rate: $21.78. Salary is dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
Essential Personnel LevelNormal operations:
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
