JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the office manager, this position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all medical front desk activities, as well as general office duties to support the efficient and effective delivery of health care services to clients. Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and revenue cycle support, while ensuring safe, efficient care delivery in clinical operations and sponsored programs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES
  • 20% – Essential – Client Support & Front Desk Services: Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and community partners by maintaining a welcoming, professional, and culturally sensitive environment. Performs patient registration, check‑in/check‑out, appointment scheduling, and general front‑line support with a high degree of accuracy. Communicates clearly, helps patients navigate services, maintains strict confidentiality of health information in compliance with HIPAA, and manages difficult interactions calmly and solutions‑focused.
  • 20% – Essential – Administrative & Scheduling Support: Provides comprehensive administrative support for clinic and mobile health unit operations. Creates and maintains provider and clinic schedule templates, manages appointments, ensures data accuracy within the patient management system and EHR, and prepares reports, correspondence, forms, manuals, meeting minutes, and other documents as needed. Supports leadership with supply ordering, drafting fliers or web content, and contributing to social media posts.

    Manages phones, mail, and other office workflows.
  • 20% – Essential – Fiscal & Revenue Cycle Support: Ensures accurate patient registration, verifies insurance, and collects co‑pays, self‑pay fees, and outstanding balances. Establishes payment plans, explains financial policies, prepares and reconciles daily revenue reports, processes deposits, and supports charge entry, corrections, denial management, and third‑party billing. Maintains financial documentation in compliance with institutional requirements.
  • 20% – Essential – Inventory & Supply Management: Coordinates administrative aspects of inventory, tracks supply usage, submits purchase orders, monitors deliveries, and ensures documentation complies with purchasing policies. Maintains organized records, reconciles stock levels, and communicates supply needs and budget considerations to leadership.
  • 20% – Non‑Essential – Sponsored Programs and Clinical Trials Support: Supports sponsored programs and clinical trials by understanding guidelines, protocols, and reporting requirements. Maintains communication with community partners, sponsors, and referring agencies; assists staff and investigators with protocol implementation and research activities; and completes required training related to human subjects protection and program compliance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education – High School or Equivalent with work experience directly related to the area of employment; a bachelor’s degree may be substituted.

Licenses – Driver’s License Class D, valid for less than 26,000 miles.

WORK SCHEDULE

Standard hours: 37.5;
Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

COMPENSATION

Expected salary range: $37,200.00 – $45,000.00. Salary is dependent upon several factors, including experience, knowledge, skills, and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
