The Shepherd Hotel is a warm, purpose-driven boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Clemson, South Carolina — steps from Clemson University, one of the South's most celebrated academic and athletic communities. But The Shepherd Hotel is far more than a place to stay. Its mission is to positively impact the lives of others — and that mission is woven into every aspect of the property, from its thoughtfully designed spaces and rotating gallery of artwork created by local and global artists to the extraordinary team that brings its hospitality to life every day.

At the heart of The Shepherd Hotel's purpose is its partnership with Clemson LIFE — Clemson University's nationally recognized Inclusive Postsecondary Education program that prepares young men and women with intellectual disabilities for competitive employment and independent living. Close to 30 percent of The Shepherd Hotel's staff are current students or graduates of the Clemson LIFE program, and the hotel also employs community members with disabilities who have found a professional home and a career in hospitality here.

• Open or close the kitchen at The Shepherd Hotel — ensuring smooth shift transitions, consistent adherence to culinary standards, and a guest-ready kitchen environment at every service period
• Implement, maintain, and monitor White Lodging Way (WLW) processes across all back-of-house kitchen operations — upholding the operational standards that define a high-performing hotel kitchen
• Lead, train, and mentor a diverse culinary team — including Clemson LIFE students and community members with disabilities — developing associates at every level and building a kitchen culture of inclusion, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
• Ensure all cooking procedures and recipes are executed consistently — maintaining the food quality and presentation standards that define the guest dining experience at The Shepherd Hotel
