JOB SUMMARY

Provides direct nursing assessment care and patient education in a clinic setting Collaborates with members of the healthcare team and discusses patients progress and needs Assists healthcare provider with examinations and treatments Maintains high level of concentration works under pressure and meets deadlines Performs other duties as assigned

JOB DUTIES
  • 70% - Assessment and Advocacy:
    Utilizes the nursing process to screen, assess, and provide patient care in a nurse triage clinic. Recognizes signs and symptoms of physical and emotional illness. Orders lab tests and initiates treatments consistent with clinical guidelines and standing orders. Treats patients for minor injuries and illnesses. Functions as terminal provider as dictated by Nursing Standing Orders. Functions as a patient advocate and provides patient education.

    Promotes wellness through activities directed towards prevention and risk reduction. Establishes and maintains confidence and cooperation of patients.
  • 10% - Patient Preparation:
    Prepares patients for healthcare provider visits by taking patient's history, vital signs, current medications, allergies, and reasons for visit. Documents information in patient's record. Assists healthcare provider with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • 10% - Patient Care:
    Performs prescribed medication administration, monitoring, and treatment to patients. Administers immunizations required by Clemson University. Provides a safe environment
  • 10% - Professional Development:
    Maintains individual nursing competencies and stays abreast of emerging trends in college health and higher education. Assumes responsibility of actions and judgments.

Minimum Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

RESPONSIBILITIES JOB KNOWLEDGE

Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary Range

$52,000.00 - $63,240.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Emergency Response
- In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
