JOB SUMMARY:Performs routine technical tasks and simple laboratory procedures to support the work of technical and professional laboratory staff.
JOB DUTIES:- 50% - Data analysis of ground and rocket based radio frequency instrumentation, including paper writing and publication development. Includes writing analysis code in Python or Matlab. Being able to disseminate results in plots and be able to present in both written and oral form.
- 10% - Assist with other laboratory based projects. Can include working with vacuum systems or testing other laboratory equipment as needed.
- 40% - Development of rocket and ground-based radio frequency instrumentation. Includes skills with debugging electronics using standard test equipment, layout of electrical circuit boards and use of electrical simulation software.

EMPLOYEE TYPE:Temporary (TMP) Staff (Fixed Term)
Minimum Requirements:- A high school diploma and work experience in a related health care setting or in a clinical or research laboratory setting;
- or 12 semester hours of academic training in biology and/or chemistry;
- or registration as a Certified Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent registry;
- or successful completion of a formal program of instruction for laboratory assistants at a hospital or academic institution.
Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNot responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIESNo fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

Expected Salary Range

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
