include, but are not limited to the following:
* Work 35 hours per week, which includes 21 classroom instructional hours, 10 office or student contact hours, and 4 hours of service to the college and community.
* Design learning activities and materials that foster faculty-student interaction and facilitate student engagement, active learning, critical thinking, and achievement of prescribed course outcomes.
* Employ methods that facilitate active learning and develop students' high-order cognitive skills, such as analyzing, evaluating, and creating.
* Deliver instruction effectively to foster student success as measured by student course completion rates, performance on learning outcomes and documented learning gains, performance in related subsequent coursework, and external tests or certifications as applicable.
* Design and conduct timely assessment strategies (including at least one within the first two weeks of class) that effectively measure the student achievement of prescribed course outcomes.
* Follow college policies and procedures for administering and encouraging participation in student surveys of instruction in all course sections taught for the purpose of receiving summative and formative feedback to inform revisions to instructional expertise.
* Syllabus must be submitted by the designated date according to LSSC policy and Florida State Board Rule.
* Ensure that each student receives a course syllabus detailing performance objectives, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal and attendance policies, and faculty office phone and email contact information.
* Regularly examine the content of assigned courses and recommend changes to the LSSC supervisor if needed. Any additions, revisions, or supplemental materials incorporated into the course must be compliant with ADA accessibility standards and institutional accessibility requirements.
* Analyze student ratings of instruction and other student feedback about instructional expertise, identify areas for improvement, and implement an action plan to accomplish that improvement.
* Assists with registration and/or recruitment.
* Engages in retention initiatives that support successful student completion and graduation.
* Attends all scheduled or called meetings by the President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President, Deans, or LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
* Keep accurate and up-to-date records; meet reporting deadlines.
* Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meetings, phone calls, mail, and email requests. Foster communication with students outside of class meeting times.
* Complete professional development focused on: currency of knowledge in academic discipline, currency in methods of teaching and learning, currency in instructional technology.
* Complies with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
* Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices.
* Ability to work various hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
* Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or off campus, as required.
* Required
* Master's degree in the teaching discipline listed in this job description, or a master's degree in another field with at least 18 graduate-level semester hours in the listed teaching discipline.
