Job Responsibilities
Assist lead teacher with presenting lessons.
Create and distribute educational content.
Assist teacher in keeping all the students engaged in lessons and activities.
Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom.
Make necessary modifications to daily activities based on student's needs.
Assist students with basic self-care skills including, but not limited to, feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
Assist students with a variety of physical needs. This may include handling equipment such as wheelchairs and braces.
Substitute teacher when teacher is absent.
Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Participate in professional development courses.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required SkillsA passion for children with special needs.
2 years of experience in the Special Education field (preferred)
The ability to interact and communicate effectively with children with special needs.
The ability to work as a team member.
Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.
Well-organized and strong time management skills.
Creative and energetic
EducationHigh school diploma or GED.
40 DCF Course.
ScheduleMon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
Wed 8:00 am – 2:30 pm
Job Type: Part-timePay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday
No nights
No weekends
Education:High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
