- National Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as NIC, or from the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI)
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language and English
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and other staff
- Professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to confidentiality
- Provide accurate, real-time sign language interpretation in classroom and campus settings
- Facilitate effective communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and the school community
- Adapt interpretation to meet diverse age groups and varying educational needs
- Support accessibility for events, meetings, and other school activities as needed
