Responsibilities: The director coordinates, plans, and directs activities for theBRIDGE Program that will aid small businesses in training and preparing proposals to take advantage of local, state, and federal contracting opportunities; provide virtual and technical assistance to potential and existing businesses in utilizing software, e.g.,Quick Books, and equipment that maximizes the business owner'seconomic potential; assist in the development of sound credit enhancement and repair training to disadvantaged entrepreneurs;adhering
to project time frames, funding limitations, procedures,and staffing requirements; overseeing budget and ensuring financial accountability; developing work plans and staffing each phase ofthe project, and assigning project personnel; working with staff toassign duties, responsibilities; recognizing and solving potential problems; reviewing status reports prepared by project personnel and implementing changes as needed; preparing project reports for various stakeholders; researching grant funding sources; developing grant proposals; networking with local, state and national agencies for future program development.
Qualifications: The project director must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degreein Business or related field and five (5) years of business development and technical assistance experience. Applicant musthave proven experience in managing complex projects and executing projects on time and on budget. Must work independently and with minimal supervision. Must possess exceptional organizational,interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving are a must.
Salary: Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university'sresources.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicant should have proven experience in leading small businesses from startups, business expansion to next levels in business, and competing in the technology-based global society; applying for and utilizing resources from agencies such as the Small Business Development Administration(SBA), United States Department of Aquiculture (USDA), Mississippi Development Authority (MDA);knowledge and experience in applying for local, state, and federalcontracts and procurement, navigating SBA, MDA, and financial institutions;
managing complex projects and executing projects ontime and on budget. The applicant must work independently and with minimal supervision. Must possess exceptional organizational,interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
Must be proficient with MS office applications, video and remote conferencing, social media integration techniques, and professional training and conferences using zoom/duo/google meet, etc., and familiar with business software and technology
