Position Summary
Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing. Full-time faculty position in the Robert
E. Smith School of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 50% in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs.
- Conduct 50% administrative duties as Chair for the Robert
E. Smith School of Nursing and Health Sciences. - Work directly with students, faculty, staff, program coordinators, and university colleagues.
- Oversee the operations of academic programs (Counselor Education, Nursing, Speech & Hearing, and Social Work).
- Coordinate curricular planning, implementation, evaluation and revise as needed for all academic programs.
- Collect and analyze data to promote excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and practice.
- Assist with accreditation requirements for the academic programs of Counselor Education, Nursing, and Social Work.
Qualifications:
- Hold a doctorate degree in nursing or a graduate degree in nursing and a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Unencumbered current license to practice in Mississippi or hold a multistate license from another NLC state.
- Hold a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification [preferred].
- Satisfactory criminal background check.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a registered nursing education program to include teaching, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
- Hold leadership, management, and/or administrative experience in the discipline of nursing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hold a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
