Senior Accounting Manager

Our partners are a fast-growing, private-equity-backed pet insurance company building out our accounting function to support scale, accuracy, and long-term growth. This role will be a key partner to the Director of Accounting and will play a major role in strengthening close, controls, and reporting as the business continues to mature.

• Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Own the general ledger, including chart of accounts, journal entries, reconciliations, and tie-outs
• Build and implement a standardized balance sheet reconciliation and internal controls framework
• Prepare audit materials, manage PBCs, and coordinate with external auditors and the holding company
• Supervise and develop a Senior Accountant, with opportunity to grow the team over time
• Improve close efficiency by reducing manual work and introducing automation
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, Claims, Billing, and Treasury
• Support ERP enhancements or transitions and lead accounting-owned UAT efforts

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity close ownership
• Experience designing or improving controls and balance sheet reconciliation processes
• Prior leadership experience with direct reports
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience in high-growth, PE-backed, or transformation environments
• ERP experience (Net Suite, D365, GP, or similar) and strong Excel skills
• Comfortable operating in an environment with evolving processes and room to build
