Job Description

The Tax Accountant position entails the accurate and timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. The role requires conducting thorough tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. The successful candidate will assist with monthly and annual tax filings, prepare financial statements related to tax matters, and collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for audits and third-party stakeholders.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and timely.

+ Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

+ Assist with the monthly filing of sales and use tax returns.

+ Assist with annual filings for personal property.

+ Prepare financial statements and reports related to tax matters.

+ Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for tax filing, audits, and third-party stakeholders.

+ Respond to tax inquiries and notices from tax authorities.

+ Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.

+ Utilize ASC 740 experience for tax provision preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of current and deferred tax accounts.

+ Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
Certified Public Accountant preferred.

+ 2-7 years of experience in tax accounting or tax analysis.

+ Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

+ Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+

Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Accounting System and Tax Provision software.

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

+ ASC
606 Revenue recognition and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is onsite with a current hybrid model allowing for 1 day xibility for 2 days at home can be considered. The role involves collaboration with various teams and stakeholders.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
