Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will focus on key accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations and vendor management, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting and payroll processes.

Responsibilities:

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve discrepancies.

- Manage vendor setup processes and oversee check runs, maintaining proper separation of duties.

- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

- Handle corporate tax return preparation and assist with sales tax reporting.

- Collaborate with the team to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency.

- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and reporting purposes.

- Support payroll-related activities and ensure proper allocation of payroll expenses.

- Provide insights and recommendations for improving accounting practices. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax preparation.

- Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entries.

- Ability to perform detailed bank reconciliations accurately.

- Knowledge of vendor setup processes and check run procedures.

- Familiarity with payroll practices and accounting workflows.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
