- Execute and lead Accounting & Reporting Advisory engagements with primary responsibility for research and preparation of client deliverables.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and support communication with client, identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and escalating matters as appropriate.
- Review and analyze complex contracts, conducting and supporting technical accounting research and documenting conclusions in accordance with applicable guidance.
- Prepare and contribute to the review of accounting memoranda and policies, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with accounting standards.
Partner with clients in various industries including but not limited to: life sciences, manufacturing, business services, technology, and consumer.
- Review of complex contracts and related technical accounting research.
- Preparation of accounting memoranda and policies.
- Preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Research on SEC filing requirements, and preparation of supporting accounting schedules and other audit support.
- Serve as a technical accounting subject‑matter expert for the firm’s valuation practice, providing ad hoc research and support.
- Assist other teams within and outside ARA with technical accounting matters.
- Identify areas to scale efficiencies and new ways of working across multiple projects and environments.
- Actively involved in business development including client pursuits and proposals.
- Assist with the build out of the Accounting & Reporting Advisory practice.
- Participate in market‑facing activities to develop and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources, principally consisting of public and private companies and CPA firms.
The selected candidate will be an entrepreneurial self‑starter, who is interested in participating in growth of service line within the established firm.
- Broad knowledge of US GAAP, which may include purchase accounting, derivatives & hedging, complex debt and equity securities, credit losses, stock‑based compensation, revenue recognition, and lease accounting.
- Experience interpreting complex accounting standards/treatment and documenting into practical terms.
- Experience presenting to the C‑suite and Executive tier.

Bachelor of Finance or Accounting. 10+ years of technical and operational accounting experience. Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting. A combination of audit/assurance experience and accounting advisory or corporate/industry experience preferred. CPA preferred.

Stout is required by applicable state and local laws to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate is $ – $ annual. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
