Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in accounts payable process, filing, data entry, and some office duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency of the payables process
- Overseeing the daily activities of accounts payable and ensuring that all vendor payments are completed accurately and timely
- Analyzing and allocating invoices across departments
- Ensuring all monthly debt payments and reserve payments are made timely
- Preparing of annual 1099s and related tax documents
- May provide customer service to other departments requesting invoice retrieval
- Prepare weekly cash balance and cash disbursements reports.
- Assist in preparation for the year end independent audits. This includes preparing work papers and supplemental schedules and at times collecting account documentation for various assigned ledgers. It may also include documenting internal controls and describing various accounting policies and procedures.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or 2+ years of accounts payable experience
Skills:
- Good organization skills, multi-tasking ability and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of efficiency and accuracy
- Computer skills related to accounting and bookkeeping software as well as MS Office
- Good customer service skills required to assist other departments
Other:
- Self-starter
Preferred:
- Nonprofit experience
