Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for various month‑end close duties, including account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and assisting with internal and external financial reporting. This role partners closely with the Corporate Accounting Manager and cross‑functional leaders to drive financial integrity, operational efficiency, and informed business decision‑making.
This is a hybrid position and will report to our Cleveland, OH offices 2–3 days a week.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
- Account for and reconcile accruals (benefits, insurance, audit, legal, interest, etc.).
- Prepare the monthly lease entries and provide the trial balance for reconciliation purposes.
- Analyze and code monthly credit card activity.
- Prepare intercompany billings, allocations, and reconciliations.
- Manage bank account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the team to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including the preparation of adjusting entries and accruals.
- Assist with external audit, including the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable items.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive and detail‑oriented.
- Understanding of and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
SalaryStarting at $80,000 annually.
