Staff Accountant | Medical Device Manufacturer | Independence, OH

CK Accounting Search, LLC is recruiting on behalf of a medical device manufacturer located in the Independence, OH area for a talented Junior Staff Accountant! This role is perfect for someone who recently obtained a degree in accounting or finance, has at least 1 year of experience in accounting, and is looking for a position to grow in.

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to support the accounting team with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry level accountant to gain hands-on transactional experience and expand into journal entries and account reconciliations as they develop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, ensure appropriate approvals, and enter AP transactions into the accounting system
• Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) and maintain payment schedules
• Manage customer invoicing, post receipts, and reconcile customer accounts
• Monitor aging reports, follow up on past-due accounts, and assist with collections
• Assist with month-end close tasks, including preparing and posting basic journal entries
• Support account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts as assigned
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad-hoc accounting projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• 1+ years of accounting experience, with AP/AR exposure strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, Sage, etc.) a plus
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Eagerness to learn and grow into broader accounting responsibilities (journal entries, reconciliations)
