Professional Accountant/Advisor

Serves as a professional accountant/advisor in the Audit Support Directorate responsible for ensuring DFAS processes, systems, and documentation are sufficient to validate accurate balances reported in financial statements.

Ensures federal regulatory guidance and principles are applied to internal control test packages along with timely submission of final products based on OSD Comptroller, Military Service, and Defense Agencies requirements and schedules.

Develops, implements, supports, and enhances business processes, reconciliations, and systems, including ensuring adequate documentation is available to support transaction auditability.

Develops internal control and operating procedures and analyzes and evaluates their effectiveness, adequacy, and relationships to other systems.

Functions in a supervisory capacity to serve as a trusted partner relating to the development, implementation, and compliance of accounting and finance procedures and policy compliance within an auditable environment.
