Summary

Maintains/monitors the financial aspects of various Federal, State, and locally-funded grants and contracts awarded to The Metro Health System. Oversees the fiscal operations of grants with a higher degree of complexity and volume while ensuring compliance with Federal (e.g., the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Uniform Guidance rules), State, and/or local regulations. Performs accounting duties, completes monthly financial analyses, and prepares audit schedules in support of financial statements with immediate levels of complexity.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 2 years of financial accounting experience.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of software products, with a minimum of intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to use a diplomatic approach with customers.
  • Able to function at a high level in a demanding environment.
  • Willing and able to work additional hours as needed and approved by management (i.e. during the month-end close process).
Preferred
  • Currently a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Experience working in an Accounting capacity in the Healthcare industry.
  • Experience with financial grant reporting, including knowledge of current regulations from the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
Physical Requirements
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
  • May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
  • Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
