- Prepare tax closings, close books, and prepare tax returns
- Assist with coordinating planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up activities
- Research accounting issues and perform tax research to resolve issues
- Report temporary and permanent book/tax differences
- Handle miscellaneous tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax returns, and 1099s
- Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements
- Work with client accounting records and software, including Quick Books
- Review and verify journal-entry accuracy and accounting classifications
- Communicate with clients and build strong client relationships
- Mentor and train junior staff
- Communicate work status and client issues to the Manager and/or Director
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field required
- 3 plus years of experience gained within a public accounting firm required
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Sense of urgency when approaching projects
- Outstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess, Case Ware, and Go File Room is a plus
Demonstrates expertise in tax preparation, accounting analysis, and client relationship management, with a strong foundation in public accounting practices. Proficient in mentoring junior staff and managing projects effectively while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
