We're seeking a relationship-focused financial professional to join Plante Moran's Healthcare Consulting Senior Living team in Cleveland or Columbus, OH. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining accounting expertise with strategic problem-solving to help organizations achieve stronger financial results.

In this role, you'll partner directly with healthcare and senior living organizations, serving as a trusted advisor who helps leaders navigate financial challenges. You'll gain exposure to diverse client environments while delivering insights that drive organizational performance and long-term success.
What you'll do- Partner with client leadership teams to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting initiatives.
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve results.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies by reconciling subsidiary systems with the general ledger.
- Prepare Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for various provider types including skilled nursing facilities, home health and hospice organizations.

The qualifications.- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred but not required
- 3+ years of full charge staff accountant experience including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations and workpaper preparation experience OR industry experience with Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for various provider types (not required, but preferred).
- Experience with Point Click Care or Sage Intacct preferred;
Yardi, Peachtree and/or Creative Solutions a plus. Must have strong Excel skills. - Fixed assets and depreciation
- Experience with FX and/or FAS preferred
- Payroll, including preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
- Travel throughout the eastern and central time zones on occasion with approximately 5% overnight travel
