Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the functions of the College of Business Office. Several of the chief tasks include keeping the College calendar, maintaining files, creating lists for tracking purposes, assisting students, compiling information, preparing agendas and taking minutes at meetings, overseeing budgeting responsibilities, compiling reports, and supervising student and temporary workers.
Scope:
Support the College of Business through assisting the Dean and Associate Dean with a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
- Answer questions generated by students, ONU constituencies, and the general public. Refer customers to the proper resource wherever possible.
- Perform and carryout event planning as necessary, including the Senior exit luncheon, and other comparable events.
- Maintain the College calendar and appointment schedules for the Dean and Associate Dean.
- Organize and maintain student files and all other files related to the College.
- Create and maintain student lists for tracking graduation, placement, retention, and honors selections.
- Assist the Dean and Associate Dean in coordinating recruitment, development, and evaluation processes for faculty.
- Provide clerical support to students and address student questions and concerns.
- Compile information for official reports and publications.
- Attend faculty and Advisory Board meetings, prepare agendas, and take and distribute meeting minutes.
- Supervise student and temporary workers.
- Maintain and audit the College budget and faculty travel accounts.
- Compile credit card reports, travel expense reports, and other reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Excellent organization and communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to perform moderately complex procedures using basic analytic ability
- Ease in discussing issues of moderate importance with higher officials through cooperation, explanation and persuasion
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two to three years of similar office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or two-year college equivalent
