Shift: Required to work shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; include weekends and holidays. Schedule will be adjusted accordingly based on operational needs. Will rotate job locations between the Justice Center and the Clerk of Courts Payment Center (One Stop)
POSITION SUMMARYThe primary purpose of the Cashier Clerk is to serve the customers courteously, giving them correct information and answering all questions correctly. Receives and/or handles cash/check/credit card payments/transactions, mail and customer inquiries for parking tickets, fines, photo tickets, tow charges, waste/code violations, hearing requests and keeps records of funds received.
Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process all mail and walk-in payments by posting payments accurately on the current system.
- Provides information to customers.
- Receives customer complaints and resolves complaints when possible.
- Provides related forms for hearings request based on ticket/tow status and advise customer on basic procedures for completion of forms. Then forward necessary documents for scheduling and review to appropriate person(s).
- Prepare and issue DETER Clearance forms for payment in full on registration hold blocks.
- When applicable completes Cash Bond receipts.
- Processes Installment Payment Plans for qualifying individuals.
- Issue certificate of payments to Taxi Cab drivers when applicable.
- Scan all checks processed in daily cash drawer.
- Instructs on how to file a motion to vacate a judgment and provide the necessary forms.
- Close and balance cash drawer at end of day and complete the daily balance sheet.
- Provides daily customer service to the public.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
