Job Summary
The Philanthropy Analyst provides high-level administrative and technical support to the Philanthropic Services team, enhancing donor and fund services, ensuring seamless event experiences aligned with the Foundation’s mission. This role plays a key part in managing CRM systems, supporting data integrity, and improving donor‑facing technologies. It also contributes to cross‑departmental collaboration and donor engagement through responsive service and event coordination. The position reports to the Director, Organizational Impact & Community Philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities- Support data‑informed philanthropic services by analyzing donor giving trends, investment selections, event engagement, and national benchmarks to inform reporting, segmentation, and service delivery.
- Support accurate and responsive donor and fund administration by serving as a primary point of contact for donor inquiries and executing fund‑related transactions, updates, and documentation.
- Maintain data accuracy and reporting integrity across philanthropic systems by producing recurring and ad‑hoc reports and supporting the implementation of data standards and SOPs.
- Support department operations and digital infrastructure by maintaining donor‑facing platforms, assisting with SharePoint file migration, and applying tools such as AI and automation to improve efficiency.
- Develop and maintain donor, partner, and internal‑facing materials—including presentations, onboarding resources, newsletters, and web content—to support communication, engagement, and decision‑making.
- Support event planning and evaluation by coordinating logistics, managing registrations and communications, supporting execution, and assisting with post‑event data entry and ROI reporting.
- Provide administrative, financial, and operational support through expense processing, fund mailings, acknowledgments, governance documentation, and scheduling of meetings and events.
- Serve as a liaison with Events, Marketing, and other internal partners to ensure alignment, timely execution, and consistent donor experience.
- Support the Black Philanthropy Center and Black Philanthropy Fund through administrative, programmatic, and event‑related coordination, including meetings, materials, and follow‑up activities.
- Contribute to team coordination and workflow management by maintaining standing meeting agendas and supporting the day‑to‑day operational rhythm of the Philanthropic Services team.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to streamline work, enhance systems usage, and strengthen service delivery.

- High school diploma or equivalent, with 3–5 years of experience in customer service, administrative, or development environments.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, grammatical, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills with a proactive, solution‑focused approach.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and anticipate challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), internet research, and database maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift or move items up to 15 lbs. for event support.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with the Cleveland business and nonprofit community.
- Understanding of philanthropic fundraising practices.
- Experience with donor databases such as Salesforce or similar platforms.
- The role is primarily office‑based, involving frequent interaction with executives, staff, and external partners.
- The position may require prolonged periods of sitting, as well as occasional lifting of light office supplies and materials.
- Occasional extended hours to meet deadlines or support special events.
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings, events, or conferences.
