About Cleveland Arts & Social Sciences Academy (CASSA)
CACC is a public charter school serving the Buckeye‑Shaker community and surrounding neighborhoods in Cleveland, Ohio. About the OpportunityThe School Office Manager reports to and works collaboratively with the Principal to receive inquiries about the school, maintain accurate student records, assist with human resource needs, and fulfill all clerical needs. All duties are carried out in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Responsibilities- Work with school leadership to achieve goals, foster a welcoming and team‑oriented atmosphere, and build an open and honest culture in line with company values.
- Manage school‑wide phone, email, and in‑person communications: greet visitors, implement registration and badging procedures, help create and distribute newsletters and surveys, and assist with school events such as Parent Orientation, Open House, school outings, and field trips.
- Support student enrollment and retention processes: participate in information sessions, produce welcome packets, conduct tours and orientations, input student and staff data, request and obtain records, and ensure 100% on‑time attendance submissions.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and school record‑keeping requirements (e.g., truancy process, withdrawals, transcripts, and audits). Establish and maintain confidential student files per regulations.
- Perform administrative support functions: prepare reports, file documents, process mail and packages, coordinate meetings and events, maintain calendars, and manage office supplies and inventory.
- Log and report issues related to office equipment, technology, custodial services, and facilities. Maintain transportation logs and coordinate with transportation officer and vendor as needed; maintain meal count lists and communicate monthly food calendars.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of human resource processes: I‑9 verification for new hires, weekly time & attendance submissions, offboarding procedures, and participation in staff meetings, committee meetings, and professional development events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum two (2) years of office management experience.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and master new computer programs.
- High quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
- Professional, punctual, and self‑motivated.
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
- Experience working in an education setting is preferred.
Compensation:
The annual starting salary for this position is $43,888, with potential adjustments based on geography, skills, education, experience and other qualifications.
