Fall Intern
Provides basic clerical support, performs various office tasks, and provides general customer service within the assigned department or external organization. Essential functions include assisting with departmental assignments, supporting departmental projects, delivering excellent customer service, completing departmental tracking and reporting, interacting with colleagues, clients, and leadership, and developing career readiness competencies.
Education and experience/training requirements include being currently enrolled in Tri-C, having a declared major on record, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher, being 18 years or older, completing a Summer Internship Application and Confidentiality and Nondisclosure Statement, successfully passing a pre-employment background check and/or drug testing, and being enrolled during the Summer Semester with plans to register for classes in the Fall Semester at Tri-C.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include basic knowledge of customer service concepts and practices, commitment to providing excellent customer service, organizational and time-management skills, sound written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population, and working accurately with great attention to detail.
Physical demands include sitting comfortably to perform the duties of the job, performing repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard, some walking and standing, carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc., and walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
This is a part-time non-bargaining unit position with a set rate of pay of $15.60/hour. If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
