What

do you need to have?

Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field and a minimum of three years of related experience in elections administration and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

What will you be doing?

You will be assisting with the development and implementation of a departmental work plan and maintenance of an efficient productivity schedule. Your job is to assist the management team in overseeing designated activities of the year-round election cycle including planning, implementation, execution, and training of employees in the CPS Department. In a typical day you will prepare reports, work plans, perform data entry, and answer calls.

You will prepare lessons learned notes and distribute meeting minutes for staff meetings. You will be responsible for monitoring departmental deadlines and coordinating with staff to make sure deadlines are met. You will help ensure proper security and storage of Candidate and Petition documents. As well as maintain an inventory of supplies and order more as needed. You will assist in the preparation and proofing of ballot language, as well as coordinating with departments the compilation of proofing source documents and departmental document language translations.

You will communicate and coordinate with municipal officials and the Secretary of State’s office regarding approval of ballot language. You will help receive and review candidates’ petitions, their nominating papers, petitions, issues and local options. In addition you will assist the Assistant Manager in the development and execution of all special projects related to candidate and petition services. You will prepare and maintain all reports as required, including creating custom reports on an as-needed basis.

Assist with processing public information requests and safeguard sensitive documents and supplies. You will conduct business in accordance with federal election guidelines, HAVA, NVRA, Title 35 of the Ohio Revised Code.
