Role Overview

Cleveland Clinic is hiring a Principal Ventures to work closely with the Executive Director and Partners on its Ventures team, which identifies, evaluates, and recommends investments in startup companies across medical devices, life sciences, and digital health. The role is hybrid, with a minimum of three in-office days per week at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus.

• Lead idea generation, market research, and diligence activities to create actionable investments into new or existing Cleveland Clinic startup companies
• Build complex financial models analyzing New Companies' startups against plans, forecasts, and industry standards
• Identify industry and market trends relevant to Cleveland Clinic's startup technologies and competitive landscape
• Lead an investment from end-to-end — sourcing, thesis development, diligence, and investing — and serve as a board member of the startup under the General Manager of New Companies
• Coordinate with the Cleveland Clinic commercialization team and foster relationships with the entrepreneurial and venture capital communities
  
  Set the due diligence process for investments in collaboration with business analytics, finance, and legal teams

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or Liberal Arts
• Six years of business research and analysis experience, with experience in entrepreneurial resources
• Preferred:
  PhD or Master's in life sciences, prior experience in venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting, and experience with venture-stage life sciences companies

Based at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus on a hybrid schedule (minimum three in-office days weekly). Annual salary range $118,960-$190,360, plus Cleveland Clinic's full benefits package.
