The Senior Counselor is responsible for direct supervision of campers and for conducting daily camp activities, including arts and crafts, games, music, nature activities, and tours of Zoo exhibits. These positions involve direct interactions with children ages 5-14 and interactions with other Zoo division personnel.
- Supervises educational program participants, ensuring a safe and positive program experience.
- Conducts program activities, i.e. arts, crafts, games, music programs, nature activities, tours of Zoo, etc.
- Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
