Pay Rate:$20–$26/hour

Additional Information
- New grads in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and experienced Field/Project Engineers are encouraged to apply (targeting 0-5 yrs experience)
- Projects are typically located within 60–90 minutes of the Brunswick office.
- Company truck provided for project travel or reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
Must-Haves:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management OR experienced Field/Project Engineers are encouraged to apply (targeting 0-5 yrs experience WITH ODOT or OH Turnpike experience)
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to learning.
- Strong understanding of construction principles and concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Plusses:
- EI/PE credentialing.
- Previous ODOT or OH Turnpike experience.
About the Role
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Civil / Field Engineers to join our dynamic Transportation Team. In this role, you will oversee and ensure the successful completion of transportation-related construction projects, including ODOT and Ohio Turnpike projects.
Day-to-Day:
- Field inspections, documentation, and coordination with contractors and clients.
- Administrative tasks such as pay applications and change orders.
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks such as research, testing, problem-solving, and construction management/administration for ODOT and OH Turnpike projects.
- Conduct field visits and inspections as required.
- Represent the firm at meetings and lead client coordination throughout the construction process.
- Document field observations for roadway and bridge construction activities.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Ensure construction work meets design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, and best practices while adhering to schedule and budget.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies or conflicts within project documents.
- Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, and property owners to resolve challenges effectively.
- Monitor construction progress and provide guidance to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Prepare project administration documents such as monthly pay applications and change orders.
- Review contractor submittals for compliance with specifications.
- Assist in resolving construction-related disputes or claims.
- Enforce construction quality standards and follow company safety policies.
