Western Specialty Contractors is seeking a Concrete Laborer Foreman at its Cleveland, OH location.

Description

As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the craft.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee small/medium sized crews during various projects related to concrete restoration.
  • Supervise 3-5 man crew.
  • Direct crews in the preparation, waterproofing, placement, finishing and demolition of concrete.
  • Actively participate in the physical tasks related to projects.
  • Supervise workers assigned to area of responsibility to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications and meets quality standards.
  • Act as the competent person on the job by identifying existing and predictable hazards which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees and halting any operation or removing employees from environments that may be dangerous.
  • Load, transport, unload, and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Rigging of mobile and stationary scaffolding on structures in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
  • May perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of journeyman's tools and equipment.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by craft worker.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned workers, establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, and communicate progress to superintendent.
  • Ensure that workers know and understand the company's safety policies.
  • Maintain liaison with customer's representative and advise superintendent and/or project manager of potential problems.
Requirements
  • Follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy; repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; evaluate information using measurable standards.
  • Identify existing and predictable hazards to work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
  • Ability to read drawings is necessary.
  • Communicate effectively in order to supervise employees and maintain customer relations.
  • Physically stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see (naturally or with correction).
  • Abilities to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear company's safety equipment are essential.
  • Experience in a trade or craft is required, preferably masonry and bricklaying.

Must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to be eligible for benefits after 90 days of employment. Compensation for this role is determined using a variety of factors including experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and the cost of labor in the different geographic locations where we operate.

US Pay Range: $30 USD - $34 USD.
