Construction Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee all on-site construction activities from project kickoff through completion for a general contractor in Northeast Ohio. The individual hired will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This individual will coordinate subcontractors, manage field operations, maintain project schedules, and serve as the primary on-site leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects.
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor productivity, quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Lead daily subcontractor coordination meetings and weekly progress meetings.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure work is completed accurately.
- Identify and resolve field issues while minimizing schedule impacts.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure work complies with local building codes and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, schedules, and project documentation.
- Verify completed work prior to owner and design team inspections.
- Work closely with project management to monitor budgets, material procurement, and schedule milestones.
- Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion, turnover documentation, and final inspections.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- 7-10 years of commercial and/or multifamily construction experience.
- Experience leading projects valued between $5 million and $40+ million preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing complex project schedules.
- OSHA 30 certification
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
