Construction Materials Technician
The Construction Materials Technician will perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete at the time of placement on construction sites. The role involves interpreting specifications, conducting inspections, testing, sampling, and working closely with project staff. The technician will obtain and record field data in a clear and organized manner, generate and compile field reports, and record daily installed construction quantities.
Effective communication with team members, contractors, and owner's representatives is essential. The position requires maintenance of equipment, adherence to public health and safety requirements, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete.
- Interpret specifications and conduct inspections, testing, and sampling.
- Obtain and record field data accurately and organize it as per project requirements.
- Generate and compile comprehensive field reports.
- Record daily installed construction quantities.
- Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and owner's representatives.
- Maintain equipment as required.
- Understand and follow public health and safety protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential
Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience in construction materials testing.
- ACI Certification in Concrete Testing.
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to work a variable schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and overtime.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- NICET Certification.
- Experience in soils and aggregate testing.
- Asphalt testing experience.
- Soil sampling experience.
Work Environment:
The role is 100% field-based on construction sites. Candidates must be comfortable working on job sites and be prepared to work in various weather conditions year-round. The schedule may include non-typical hours such as weekends, early mornings, and overtime, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
