The Project Executive provides executive leadership and oversight for a portfolio of multifamily build-for-rent (BFR) construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The Project Executive serves as a strategic leader, partnering with Ownership's Development and Asset Management leadership, investors/lenders, architects, consultants, and internal teams to drive successful project outcomes and long-term relationships.
The Project Executive reports to the Director of Construction Operations and directs the Onsite Project Manager and Lead Superintendent, who serve as co-equal leads of the field leadership team and both report directly to the Project Executive. This position owns the project's overall budget and intercompany construction agreement, manages project risk, and supports business development initiatives to strengthen the company's presence in the multifamily BFR market.
Leadership & Operations
- Provide executive oversight for multiple multifamily BFR construction projects, including ranch, townhome, and garden-style communities.
- Lead project teams from preconstruction through warranty, ensuring alignment with company goals and Ownership's expectations.
- Lead by example and foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and open communication across field teams, project teams, and trade partners.
- Mentor, coach, and develop Onsite Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers, and participate in staffing and hiring decisions for project teams.
- Direct the Onsite Project Manager and Lead Superintendent as co-equal leads of the field leadership team; resolve escalated issues involving cost, schedule, or contractual risk.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular project reviews to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the senior point of contact for Ownership's Development and Asset Management leadership, investors/lenders, and the design team throughout construction.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with Ownership and project stakeholders through proactive communication and exceptional project execution.
- Lead or participate in Development-Architect-Contractor (DAC) progress meetings, owner meetings, and project milestone presentations, and report project status to the Director of Construction Operations.
