Intertek’s Building Science Solutions
(BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.

The
Project Specialist
assistsproject teams through design and construction phases, supporting new construction enclosure consulting and commissioning, as well as evaluations, investigations, and repairs of existing buildings.

This position will travelfrequentlywithin and outside the local area, depending on workloads and project locations;estimate is 25%.

Monday – Friday, 8-5PM

• Completefield performance testing and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows,air barriers,curtain walls, and other building elements
• Perform quality assurance observations andmonitorthe construction process to assure that roofing and building enclosure related projectsstay in compliance with approved construction drawings, specifications, and warranty stipulated installation procedures
• Perform construction administration services and site visitsat construction jobsites
• Assist with/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions including wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing and below grade elements, etc.
• Prepare professionally written field reports
• Learn to perform buildingenclosure reviews of architectural drawings, shopdrawingsand submittals
• Learn to prepare sketches and details using Bluebeam and hand-drawn techniques

This position outline is a general guideline and does notrepresentall encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering with 2+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure OR;
• 7+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure in lieu of degree
• Workingknowledgeofbuildingconstruction, roofing, and other building enclosure systems
• Construction administration, progressobservationand site inspection experience
  
  Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects, simultaneously, in a team environment
• Excellent organizational and project management skillswithdemonstratedability to meet deadlines
• Consistent and professional interaction and communication
• Field experience or strong interest in working onsite
• Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
• Ability to observework from ladders,boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.
• Ability to travelfrequentlywithin and outside the local area, depending on workloads and project locations, estimate 25% travel time
• Valid Driver’sLicense and reliable driving record

• Safety Training / Aerial Lift Certification
