Job Description
The Construction Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects within a small accounting team. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate cost tracking, managing project billing, and supporting the project teams in a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will be extremely flexible and versatile in the construction environment, handle a variety of duties supporting the entire organization and will play a hands-on role with multiple responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Track and monitor project costs accurately
- Assist in weekly in-house payroll processing
- Support project team as required
- Manage job reporting for various construction projects
- Conduct financial analysis to support project and company decision-making
- Support internal and external financial reporting requirements
- Be a team player with ability to wear many hats
Required Qualifications
- Mid-level capability and experience in construction accounting environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting desired
- Experience in PR, JC, AR and AP
- Certified Payroll Reporting
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Cross-train and share knowledge
- Collaborate across the organization
