Digital content producer

We are seeking a FOX 8 digital content producer to manage both digital platforms and assignment desk duties, overseeing crews in the field, listening to scanners, and assigning reporter stories.

• Research and write local and national stories, capture visual content, and edit general assignment stories for our website, mobile platform, and social media.
• Produce content for multiple platforms: website, mobile, and social media.
• Work with management on enterprise digital-only content and take on new projects.
• Write stories in AP style and develop unique content for FOX 8 digital platforms, creating digital extras to enhance stories.
• Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation, and research.
• Use Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms for broadcast purposes.
• Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
• Create compelling, SEO‑strong stories and headlines.
• Be proficient at multi‑tasking and constantly monitor all digital and social sources to break and produce news on digital.
• Research and analyze background information related to news stories to provide complete and accurate information.
• Gather information about events through research, interviews, or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social, or other functions.
• Pitch local and trending stories during editorial meetings and communicate with managers.
• Find new ways to use social media and our website to engage with viewers.
• Ensure that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.

• Degree in journalism or another related field.
• Experience working in digital or news at a television station, newspaper, or professional news site; preferred previous assignment desk experience.
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, SEO, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or Spark, Crowdtangle or Shareablee, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; livestream production skills.
• Ability to provide writing samples.
• Maintains a positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with coworkers in all departments.
• Responds positively to feedback and direction.

$55‑60k (based on experience)
