Job Description

AECOM is seeking a design‑oriented Project Architect to be based in our growing Columbus or Cleveland Ohio offices. In this role you will work in a highly collaborative, design‑focused studio, leveraging your technical acumen to drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation and construction. You will lead interdisciplinary teams, provide technical leadership, and help shape our architecture practice in the region.

the Ohio Buildings + Places Team

Our Ohio practice, anchored by large studios in Columbus and Cleveland, is one of the most established and highest‑performing B+P practices in AECOM’s West Region. We offer a full suite of services—including architecture, interiors, building systems and structural engineering, urbanism and planning, workplace transformation, advisory services, technology solutions and digital delivery—and serve as a Center of Excellence for many of these disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop design concepts and coordinate design efforts for the client and design lead.
  • Prepare design and contract drawings using Revit and modeling/graphics software.
  • Assist with the management and mentoring of less‑experienced project team members.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure design and technical excellence in the work produced with respect to schedule and budget.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Architecture plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
  • Knowledge of building systems, materials and local building codes.
  • Proficient in Revit with 3D modeling skills in Sketch Up and/or Rhino.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Ability to produce design intent renderings and design concept diagrams.
  • Current valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed as a registered architect or steps toward licensure, preferably in OH.
  • Certified as a LEED Accredited Professional by USGBC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment.
Additional Information
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Occasional travel is required.
Compensation

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. The range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000 per year.
