Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Experience Design Lead to join PNC’s Digital organization. The role will be based in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, PA;
Cleveland, OH;
Dallas, TX; or Birmingham, AL. The Lead will collaborate with experience designers, product, data analytics, and agile development teams to shape product design and strategy, delivering engaging, consistent, and accessible experiences. The Lead will manage a pod of designers, align solutions across products, channels, and business lines, and advocate for user needs.
- Champion the experience vision, balancing design strategy and execution to grow cross‑channel secure sales and deepen client relationships around a framework of financial wellness and advice.
- Define end‑to‑end journeys and experience frameworks that align stakeholders and guide delivery.
- Drive product design quality, consistency, and best practices, coaching through expert use of Figma.
- Promote relationships across teams, guide and mentor designers by creating design objectives, goals and delivery timelines.
- Design frameworks, principles and components to deliver consistent UX across user touchpoints.
- Apply UI and UX skills in complex, ambiguous problem spaces and adapt quickly to change.
- Ensure continuity between UX prototypes and end‑user experience, monitoring product development execution.
- Support user observation, research, and analysis to understand customer challenges.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions.
Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role, including:
- 8+ years of industry experience, preferably in regulated industries such as financial services.
- Strong knowledge of design strategy, product design leadership, and experience mentoring other designers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in large, cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows.
- High‑fidelity UI design with a strong eye for visual hierarchy and clarity.
- Experience with user research, contextual inquiries, and data‑driven design decisions.
- Agile and product development lifecycle knowledge.
- Agile Web Development, Business Requirements Documentation, IT Architecture, JavaScript, Wire framing.
- Business Analytics, Design Thinking, Effective Communications, Graphic Visualization, Group Facilitation.
- Product Development Life Cycle, Requirements Analysis, Solutions Development, User Experience Design.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Master’s degree, PhD, or relevant certifications are desirable. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
CompensationBase salary range: $112,000 – $228,800. Salary may vary by location, market data, and individual skills. The role is incentive eligible with company and performance‐based pay.
