Mayor Justin M. Bibb is building a team of leaders to join the Mayor's Office of Capital Projects to deliver a modern, responsive City government and advance critical investments in Cleveland’s facilities and infrastructure.
DescriptionThe Mayor’s Office of Capital Projects plays an important role in planning, designing, constructing, and preserving public assets that support City operations and improve quality of life for our residents. - Performs architectural services required in the construction, alteration, and addition to buildings.
- Plans, supervises, and directs assigned personnel.
- Performs other job‑related duties as required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited four‑year college or university.
- One year of full‑time paid experience as a registered Architect.
- Must be a registered Architect in the State of Ohio.
- Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2‑D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint and project planning software; good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lead and coordinate the planning, design, and execution of assigned capital projects.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with programming, planning, RFP development, design development, consultant coordination, and construction administration of capital projects designed in‑house or through outside resources.
- Ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, and quality standards.
- Experience coordinating with outside architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, applicable codes, and permitting requirements.
- Experience with Design/Build, Progressive Design/Build, and Construction Manager at Risk project delivery methods.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that may include architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, construction professionals, government officials, and community stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide projects from concept through completion.
