TRIO Assistant Academic Coach

Job Summary

As an academic advisor assigned to work under federal guidelines on the TRIO/SSS Program, the primary focus of this position is to ensure compliance with TRIO/SSS Program regulations. Advises students on academic requirements, career options, and extracurricular opportunities. Monitors student academic and personal progress and employs intervention strategies as necessary. Establishes meaningful relationships with students, faculty, staff, Cleveland State University (CSU) resources and the community.

Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

* Experience in advising, mentoring, tutoring, student programming or student services in an educational or programming setting.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree, preferably in student personnel services, adult learning and development, counseling, guidance, education, or a related field of study.

* Experience working with student population and recruitment efforts.

* Experience using an early alert/advising system powered by predictive analytics.
