Job Summary

Collaborates with others in the implementation of strategies, plans, programs, and services that support the assigned college's goals of attracting and retaining an academically talented non-traditional student population.

Represents and promotes the assigned colleges and Cleveland State University (CSU) to prospective non-traditional students. Maintains individual communication with prospective students throughout the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment utilizing the customer relationship management (CRM) tool. Develops and implements a recruitment plan and schedule. Maintains, collects, and analyzes recruitment, admissions, and retention data utilizing the CRM tool. Works with others on the planning and implementation of community outreach and with specialized engagement activities.

Monitors enrollment trends and develops appropriate recruitment engagement strategies. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in education, social science, humanities , business, or related fields.
  • Experience in advising, mentoring, student programming, student services, teaching, or tutoring, in an educational or programming setting.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, preferably in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years in admissions, recruitment, student services, education, mentoring, academic advising, career services, and workforce development in an educational or programming setting.
  • Experience engaging with non-traditional students.
  • Experience planning, organizing, and implementing recruitment or sales plans, events, or programs.
  • Experience utilizing a CRM system.
  • Experience using social media and networked communications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, "customer focus" attitude, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of credit for prior learning processes and transfer credit evaluation.
  • Knowledge of individualized, interdisciplinary, or workforce-based academic programming.
  • Social media communication skills.
  • Proficiency with student information systems and academic planning tools.
  • Ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel frequently and to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
