8th Grade Math Teacher

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified 5-8th Grade Math Teacher at Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio.

Lake Erie Preparatory School is a public charter school serving K‑8 with a focus on college prep, foreign language, STEM, and CTE. The school has served the Collinwood community since 2012 and is part of the ACCEL Schools network.

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify during the school year
• Differentiate instruction to meet student needs
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development
• Utilize research‑based best practices in planning and instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom
• Create a positive learning environment
• Implement school‑approved curricula that reflect diverse backgrounds
• Explain and enforce school‑wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicate with families about academic and social‑emotional growth
• Incorporate technology skills into daily practice
• Participate in planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities, as needed
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• Comfortable in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and monitoring
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage confidential information
• Ability to supervise students of various ages in different settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
• Pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience in an urban environment

• Salary range: $40,000 – $49,500
