Spanish Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking Spanish Teachers for the school year at boarding schools in the Greater Cleveland area.

• Teach multiple Spanish courses at various proficiency levels for upper school students.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Participate in residential life program by providing guidance, supervision, and support for students in a residential setting.
• Supervise extracurricular activities in accordance with school policies and/or athletic program expectations.
• Serve as an advisor ensuring academic and social success for students.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
• At least 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.

• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
• Previous boarding school experience preferred, but not required.

Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
