ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified P.E. Teacher at Ginn-Thompson School for Girls in Cleveland, Ohio. This role focuses on delivering a superior education to students and fostering a positive classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social‑emotional development.
As a P.E. Teacher you will teach students in grades K‑12, using curriculum to cultivate confidence, leadership, and academic excellence in a nurturing, all‑girls environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed throughout the school year.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
- Utilize research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
- Manage student behavior and create a positive classroom environment.
- Use school‑approved curricula that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Implement school‑wide culture expectations and norms.
- Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social‑emotional growth.
- Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice.
- Participate in planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active, current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Comfortable working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Ability to supervise students of various ages in multiple settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
- Experience working within an urban environment.
- Compensation: Salary range $41,000 – $50,500.
