Instructional Support Specialist
Assist classroom teachers, as assigned by the principal, in use of student data to plan small group and individual standards-based instruction;
Assist teachers with full implementation of district math and literacy initiatives;
Assist teachers with planning instructional interventions for students based upon the data;
Implement interventions with small groups or individual students within the classroom environment (Funding guidelines require that intervention activities occur in the classroom; pulling students out of core instruction is not allowed.) Monitor student progress through conferencing and assessments to determine effectiveness of instruction;
Support effective use of instructional time by coaching student individual work, by delivering targeted small group lessons, and by conferencing with students about learning. Under direction of the classroom teacher, develop learning centers or stations to address critical needs in skill development; assist teachers with facilitation of station work during differentiated learning time.
Part-Time 100 days at $275.00 per day You will work the hours of the school that you are assigned to.
Qualifications:
- Current Ohio Department of Education teaching license
- A minimum of ten years of classroom experience in the subject area assigned
- Previous experience with classroom support services, team teaching, or co-teaching
- Expertise in classroom management to support differentiated instruction
- Previous experience with student assessment and use of data to plan interventions
- Willingness to participate in all required training and meetings related to the assignment
- Successful BCI/FBI background check
- Recommendation for the position by a building principal familiar with the candidate's work experience
